The Perfect 3-Day Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary in San Antonio
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but your bachelorette party does not need to be at a private villa in the south of France that costs every guest a whopping $10,000… (I mean, if you can afford it, then good on you!) Bachelorette parties have become an $11 BILLION industry in the United States, so here’s an idea: what about keeping your beach party local? If you already live in Texas, plan the perfect bachelorette weekend in San Antonio! We’re talkin’ sunshine, margaritas, Riverwalk, and mariachi bands for days.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kelsey Kennedy is a local Texas author, photographer, blogger, and native Texan who is fully obsessed with all things local San Antonio. She has written on her travel sites for more than 12 million readers across 38 countries who are looking for cool things to do in the hottest cities in Texas.
3 Great Reasons To Choose San Antonio As Your Bachelorette Party Destination:

- Pool season year-round! // Except for a very brief cold patch in January and February, SATX is balmy and warm. With over 250 sunny days per year, we’re talkin’ swimsuits and margaritas nearly any time you visit. I mean, we even have this guide to what the San Antonio weather is actually like if you need some extra convincing….or if you just want to see the best month for your party.
- San Antonio is VIBRANT. Sure, it's probably the most overused word to describe San Antonio, but this city really is VIBRANT! It’s bright and colorful, it’s absolutely packed with culture and history, it has music and beauty and food and a lot of life. Actually, you could argue that San Antonio is the most interesting of all the major Texas cities.
- Amazing food, swanky hotels, fun nightlife. // San Antonio officially has it all! The restaurant scene has SKY-ROCKETED in the last decade and there are now Michelin-starred restaurants and James Beard Award winners here. Plus we have a bunch of fancy hotels opening up (The Thompson, The Kimpton) and a Kajillion cool VRBO rentals.
Have I convinced you yet? Great. Here’s the ideal 3-day bachelorette party itinerary in San Antonio that I made for you.

Day 1: Arrive/Settle In
When you arrive in San Antonio (most likely on a Friday afternoon), go ahead and get checked in to your vacation rental.
Psst: if you’re planning a bachelorette trip, a big vacation rental house is always better than a hotel. That way everyone can stay together and you can have coffee/breakfast together in the kitchen every morning!
However, if you’re going to stay in a hotel and you want something in a GREAT location with a really pretty pool, I highly recommend the new Kimpton Santo! It’s sooo gorgeous and it’s walking distance to the Riverwalk, Hemisfair, Southtown, and downtown. The only Uber you’ll have to get is if you want to visit the Historic Pearl!
Here’s a map of the general area I recommend for booking VRBOS:
Friday Evening
Head to the Pearl for Friday evening! It’s an incredible historic district that’s packed with restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, and more. And since some of your party guests might have had a normal workday on Friday before travelling to San Antonio, it’s a good idea to make Friday a bit more of a “chill” night and then go all out on Saturday once everyone has settled in.

Here’s a guide to the best restaurants you need to try at the Pearl, but I recommend getting dinner at Cured (Texas-focused and lots of cured meats from a James Beard Award-nominated chef) or Ladino (Mediterranean grill and a Michelin Bib Gourmand award) for a nice dinner.
Cocktails at Sternewirth are an absolute must! This is the cocktail bar inside the 2 Michelin Key-winning Hotel Emma, and the drinks are absolutely fabulous. It’s the perfect place to toast the bride-to-be!
And for an evening activity? Get tickets to an underground speakeasy jazz club called JAZZ, TX. It’s literally under the Food Hall at the Bottling Department and you’ll have to purchase tickets in advance. It’s so much fun!
Day 2: Explore San Antonio’s Best
Good morning! On Saturday, plan on walking around to see a few local San Antonio favorites so you can soak up the beauty in this city!

But first…mimosas.. Head to Box Street Social for brunch. It’s the cutest bright pink brunch spot with an absolutely killer patio at Hemisfair and the most delicious brunch food in San Antonio.
After Box Street, you’re in a great location to wander through some of San Antonio’s most famous sights! Walk through Hemisfair, which was home to the 1968 World's Fair. (Pst: Hemisfair is now home to a lot of great eateries including an urban wine bar, a craft brewery, and an artisan ice cream shop in case you’re feeling snacky!)
Walk across the street to La Villita, San Antonio’s original neighborhood. It’s quaint and charming and has some cute shops.

Then meander over to the Riverwalk. If you want an activity, I highly recommend getting tickets to a Go Rio River Cruise - here’s our review of them! It’s a nice way to get off your feet, see the Riverwalk without having to fight through all the pedestrian traffic, and you’ll even get some fun trivia facts (the drivers are really good tours!!).

Lunch time!! It’s really fun to eat on the Riverwalk! Keep in mind that the majority of the restaurants on the Riverwalk are tourist traps, but here are a few excellent places to get tacos and margaritas on the Riverwalk. For a bachelorette party, I recommend Domingo. It’s an open-air Mexican restaurant with delicious cuisine and a beautiful location right on the water.
After lunch, you could easily walk over to the Alamo if you want to see that before heading back to the VRBO to freshen up for the evening.

A few ideas for Saturday night:
New American dinner and cool cocktail bars // Head to Bar Loretta for dinner (omg this place is so good!) and then uber to Bar 1919, a cool speakeasy with some of the most amazing cocktails in San Antonio.
Sushi and a private karaoke room // Nineteen Hyaku is absolutely GORGEOUS and the perfect place for a bachelorette party sushi dinner in San Antonio! After that, uber up to Dad’s Karaoke for a hilarious night of belting your hearts out to strangers.

Tex-Mex dinner and then Tequila! // Head to South town and eat dinner at Rosarios, and then head to Amor Eterno for some of the best tequila and mezcal-based cocktails in the city.
Party on St Mary’s Strip // St Mary’s Strip is where you’ll find a lot of bars, music, and nightlife in San Antonio. The only downside is it doesn’t have many upscale restaurants, so before you bar hop plan on a casual dinner at Tycoon Flats (or if you want a fancy Saturday night dinner, I recommend a reservation at Supper at Hotel Emma and then uber over to St Mary’s after dinner.) From there? Bar hop on St Mary’s Strip! Oh, and you need to 100% stop by Cullum’s Attagirl for late night snacks. This place has a James Beard Award reservation but it’s casual snacky stuff like fruits and wings and chicken sandwiches…and that Gucci Ranch dip will steal your heart.
Day 3: Shop and Relax

Start your final morning in San Antonio with breakfast at La Panaderia, an exceptional Mexican bakery and café. You can place a pick up order the day before so it’s ready when you arrive.
After that, pack up at the VRBO (you can use Bounce Luggage Storage to find a safe place to store your luggage!) and go check out the epic Historic Market Square!

Historic Market Square is a 3-block outdoor plaza with vendors, shops, restaurants, music, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about it. It’s a great place to pick up some last-minute souvenirs from your bachelorette weekend in San Antonio. (Matching Mexican dresses, anyone?)
Need one final Tex-Mex meal before you wrap up your weekend. Ask for a big outdoor table at La Margarita Mexican Restaurant and Oyster Bar. They’ve been serving sizzling fajitas, margaritas, and seafood since 1981. It’s the perfect place to give one last toast to the bride-to-be before wrapping up your ultimate bachelorette weekend in San Antonio.

Bonus: Insider Tips!
A few little tidbits that will help you plan the best possible girls weekend in San Antonio:
Do I need a car for this trip? No, you can absolutely get by with Ubering around. Plan on booking a VRBO in South town, downtown, or anywhere near Hemisfair or the Riverwalk for the most walkable location. (However, since there’s a good chance you’re driving from somewhere in Texas, you might be bringing a car anyway!)
Where can I get the best group bachelorette pics? I know you want to have a few phenomenal group photos for Instagram! Here are three places where you’ll get AMAZING photos!

- At the Selena Bridge on the Riverwalk. This is the stone pedestrian bridge that’s famous for being in a scene from the movie Selena starring Jennifer Lopez. To find it, just head to the Omni La Mansión Del Rio on the Riverwalk…the bridge is right outside the hotel!
- The San Antonio Missions are all great spots for iconic San Antonio photos! The Alamo is definitely ICONIC but just be aware it’s probably going to be crowded. If you want to drive somewhere even prettier, head to Mission San Jose. Here’s a guide to all of the San Antonio missions.
- The Japanese Tea Garden is located near Brackenridge Park, just north of the Historic Pearl District. It’s a GORGEOUS San Antonio destination and would make a fun spot for a group photo!
