It was built in the 1880s by William Kuhlmann. (And yes, if you’re from New England you’ll scoff at the fact that 1880 is considered “historic,” but that’s just how Texas works..)

21. Sip Wine at a Nearby Boerne Winery
Boerne, Texas has a great selection of nearby wineries. While you’ll have to drive to a neighboring town to get to the best options, the towns in the Texas Hill Country are pretty near one another, so you can see a variety of vineyards within a 30 minute drive. Some of the best are Singing Water Vineyards, Sister Creek Vineyards, Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards, and Bending Branch Winery. These wineries offer different experiences to their visitors, but all of them have something special to offer.
For instance, at Singing Water Vineyards, you can enjoy a wine tasting with live music and stunning Hill Country views.
Sister Creek Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that has been producing wine since 1988 and offers tastings in a charming 1885 cotton gin.

Ok, ok…just one more craft brewery for you. I told you that Boerne has a lot of fun ones! Tusculum Brewery is one of the must-visit breweries in Boerne. It is a family and friend-owned and operated pub brewery offering an excellent selection of beer.
It’s located in a historic building on the Hill Country Mile in downtown Boerne. They have a pet-friendly taproom, a covered outdoor beer garden, and a yummy food menu with apps, sandwiches, paninis, and a kid's menu. Their beer menu is pretty diverse, so start with a flight to sample a few to see what you like before you commit to your favorite beer.

25. Stop by the Farmers Market at Cibolo
We’ve already mentioned the Cibolo Center for Conservation earlier in this guide, but if you stop by on a Saturday morning you can explore the Boerne Farmers Market. It’s a perfect place to spend a relaxing morning shopping for fresh ingredients and supporting local businesses. T
It’s an open-air market, so keep in mind that the summer months get pretty hot. But since it opens at 9 am, you can get there early to beat the heat. The market is a great way to experience local flavors, as it features different fresh produce options, artisanal foods that are made by nearby farms and shops, and handcrafted goods from local vendors.
You can find everything here from fresh fruits and vegetables to honey, baked goods, and handcrafted jewelry. And, of course, a farmers market is also a hub of community activity; locals gather to catch up with friends and neighbors, and tourists get a good feel of the city.
