I was recently staying in San Antonio at a fun resort, and the family decided to do a day trip to Boerne…and it’s absolutely adorable! Here are 25 fun things to do in Boerne, Texas.
Boerne (pronounced “Burn-ee”) is located in the Texas Hill Country, about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio and 90 miles southwest of Austin. In addition to its rich history and cultural heritage that’s reflected in its nature, cuisine, and festivals, the city also offers a ton of fun activities, events, and outdoor things to do, like the farmer's market, paddle boarding on the lake, and the Boerne Berges Fest, a celebration of German heritage.

The center features over 4 miles of hiking trails, including a boardwalk trail that runs along the banks of Cibolo Creek. We loved visiting the five distinct ecosystems and the historic Herff Farm that embodies the center's cultural and agrarian roots.
Visitors can also enjoy birdwatching, picnicking, and stargazing in the park. With its tranquil setting and fantastic natural sceneries, the Cibolo Nature Center is one of the best places to explore in the Boerne.

Although it’s just one title, there are a lot of different things to do at Herff Farm. It’s a historic property and another great Boerne attraction.

While you’ll have to drive to a neighboring town to get to the best options, the towns in the Texas Hill Country are pretty near one another, so you can see a variety of vineyards within a 30 minute drive. Ok, ok…just one more craft brewery for you. I told you that Boerne has a lot of fun ones! Tusculum Brewery is one of the must-visit breweries in Boerne. It is a family and friend-owned and operated pub brewery offering an excellent selection of beer.
It’s located in a historic building on the Hill Country Mile in downtown Boerne. They have a pet-friendly taproom, a covered outdoor beer garden, and a yummy food menu with apps, sandwiches, paninis, and a kid's menu. We’ve already mentioned the Cibolo Center for Conservation earlier in this guide, but if you stop by on a Saturday morning you can explore the Boerne Farmers Market. It’s a perfect place to spend a relaxing morning shopping for fresh ingredients and supporting local businesses. T
It’s an open-air market, so keep in mind that the summer months get pretty hot. But since it opens at 9 am, you can get there early to beat the heat. The market is a great way to experience local flavors, as it features different fresh produce options, artisanal foods that are made by nearby farms and shops, and handcrafted goods from local vendors.
