Where to Stay Near the San Antonio Rodeo
If you are planning to come to the Alamo City in February and looking for a place to stay near the San Antonio Rodeo, you are about to be disappointed. There are simply no quality hotels within about two miles of the Frost Bank Center. There are hotels nearby, but none that I'd recommend or would stay in myself. That's the bad news.
The good news? While not close by, there are a few solid hotel options located downtown that the rodeo has negotiated discounted rates with. That means that while you'll be about 2-3 miles away, you'll be in a nice hotel, likely near the Riverwalk, that is safe and clean. It's a compromise for sure, but one I'd be more than willing to make.

Where to Stay Near the San Antonio Rodeo
Can I stay near the San Antonio Rodeo or the Frost Bank Center?
Not really. You can get close(ish), but not very near the San Antonio Rodeo. And that's because the Frost Bank Center, where the SA Rodeo and Stock Show is held, is located east of San Antonio's downtown, in a lower economic residential and industrial area.
With the exception of people coming to visit loved ones who are stationed at Fort Sam Houston, there just aren't a lot of reasons to stay in this area of town so the hotels that have set up shop here tend to be inexpensive, and often unsafe or unkempt, motels.
Even if you are comfortable staying in one of these properties, the closest ones are about a mile from the Frost Bank Center and are not safe to walk from. So if you are going to have to drive or use rideshare to the rodeo anyway, why not stay somewhere you'll enjoy?
Where should I stay if I'm headed to the San Antonio Rodeo?
The downtown hotels will definitely be your best bet if you want to stay near the San Antonio Rodeo, but also want to be safe. And while these hotels tend to be VERY pricy thanks to their stellar location along the San Antonio Riverwalk, the rodeo commission has negotiated some discounted rates with a few of San Antonio's best hotels making them a great deal for rodeo-goers.
All the hotels listed below have been vetted and are great options for a visit to San Antonio and the rodeo. Prices and services will vary, but safety won't.
To access the special rodeo rates, you must link to the hotels via the San Antonio Rodeo's website. Click here for the complete list of options.
