A Map of All the San Antonio Restaurants on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives
Guy Fieri, the self-proclaimed mayor of flavortown, has spent his fair share of time in San Antonio in 2024 visiting lesser known eateries for his popular Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. And with the recent addition of Con Huevos Tacos (one of our favorite taco joints) to Fieri’s collection of delicious restaurants, I wanted to share the entire list of San Antonio restaurants on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives for guests and locals alike to explore and try.

Con Huevos Tacos (premiered on 12/13/24)
Con Huevos Tacos is a fantastic breakfast taco hut with a solid menu of classic and specialty tacos alike. And, as one of the best tacos in San Antonio, absolutely can’t be beat.

The Cove
The Cove is not only home to one of the best burgers in San Antonio, but one of the best fish tacos as well. Served up on savory blue corn tortillas, these tacos are INSANE! Highly recommend the Cove for a weekend with the family as there is a large outdoor space and playground for the kids.

Dough Pizzeria Napoletana
This wood-fired pizza restaurant is one of the only more upscale San Antonio restaurants on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. And while it doesn’t exactly feel diner/drive-in/dive – ish, it does have some of the best pizza in San Antonio. Hands down.

Fat Tummy Empanadas

This mom-and-pop neighborhood eatery does one thing and does it exceptionally well – empanadas. With a record number of both savory and sweet empanadas on hand, as well as a few sandwiches and sides to boot, you will not go hungry at Fat Tummy.

The Jerk Shack
The Jerk Shack has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a small restaurant in the Alamo City. This culinary juggernaut can no longer be called a diner, but it has maintained its original charm and fantastic flavors. As one of the best restaurants in San Antonio, the Jerk Shack is the de facto restaurant in SA for Caribbean food and jerk chicken.

Julia’s Bistro and Bar

Julia’s Bistro and Bar has found its niche serving traditional French food with a Texas twist. This creative blending of food cultures is responsible for some amazing dishes like Barbacoa Bourgignon and Braised Lamb Shank a la Birria that you won’t find anywhere else in San Antonio.

La Panadería
As one of the best bakeries in San Antonio, La Panadería has been a city fave for many years now. With a fab assortment of pan dulces, brunch items, tortas, salads, and coffees, La Panadería is a must have on any visit to SA.

Luna Rosa Puerto Rican Grill y Tapas

If you’ve never tried Puerto Rican food, best to begin with one of Luna Rosa’s fabulous mofongos (fried green plantains that have been mashed, mixed with spices, and your choice of meat). Throw in an order of the Grand Caribbean Nachos, and you’ve got a meal fit for a king (or at least the mayor of flavortown).

Magnolia Pancake Haus
Of all the San Antonio restaurants on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, this one may be my favorite. The Magnolia Pancake Haus is one of the best brunch places in SA and home to some of the best comfort food I’ve ever had. Guy Fieri absolutely loved the corned beef hash, but for me, it’s all about the pancakes. Full stop.

Ma Harper’s Creole Kitchen

It’s the southern food your grandmother made you. Fried, heavy, and absolutely delicious. Anybody craving some Louisiana gumbo will find that itch more than scratched by Ma Harper’s Cajun grub.

Moroccan Bites Tajine

Moroccan food may be unfamiliar to many, but a great place to give it a go is at Moroccan Bites Tajine. With a mix of Mediterranean, Spanish, and African flavors, Moroccan food is wonderfully complex and perhaps best experienced by ordering a tajine (a slow-cooked meat stew) that features meat, poultry, or fish.

Ro-Ho Pork and Bread
I said that the Magnolia Pancake Haus may be my favorite, then again, maybe I lied. Because I also LOVE Ro-Ho Pork and Bread. And as home to some of the best carnitas in San Antonio, I’m betting you will too.
Stop by, order the torta ahogada, and be amazed by this savory, juicy, oh-so-amazing carnitas sandwich which is smothered in a delicious, drippy tomato salsa. It’s not exactly a clean lunch, but you won’t care. Lean over your plate and ENJOY!
WEBSITE | 8617 N. New Braunfels Ave., San Antonio, TX 78217
Sichuan House
The Sichuan House is by far one of the top Chinese restaurants in San Antonio. With a menu of traditional Sichuan style cuisine, this restaurant is a literal flavor explosion that hits all the right spicy notes.

Smoke Shack BBQ

As an honorable mention on our best BBQ in San Antonio post, the Smoke Shack may not have made our top 10 for taste, but it is definitely number 1 for instagrammable food pics.
Head over and order the Big Mac Daddy – a 7 pound BBQ dish of brisket, ribs, sausage, and sauces, all covered in 4 scoops of mac ‘n cheese. You may not be able to finish it, but it will look great in your reels!

Taco Taco Café

The Taco Taco Café is a traditional Tex-Mex restaurant where you will find ample options for tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas. Sure, you can find these all over San Antonio, but they’re not all created equal, and the Taco Taco Café is one of the best.

Wrigleyville Grill
As a former resident of Chicago, I was beyond excited to try the Wrigleyville Grill. Because there is nothing like a Chicago style hot dog, Italian beef sandwich, or deep dish pizza. And thankfully the Wrigleyville Grill proves you can take the restaurant out of Chicago but keep the Chicago in the restaurant.
