A Map of All the Michelin Restaurants in San Antonio

On November 11, the Michelin Guide announced the results of its long awaited foray into Texas cuisine. Four cities – Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio – were the big winners, walking away with newly minted Michelin starred restaurants and a slew of other restaurant recommendations. A big congratulations to the San Antonio restaurants who have received such a prestigious recognition, and a big congratulations to all the people of San Antonio who can look forward to more years of good eating. And to help you make your way through some of the best of the best, I have put together a map of all the Michelin Restaurants in San Antonio.

Michelin Restaurants in San Antonio

How the Michelin Guide Works

The Michelin restaurants in San Antonio were recognized with one of three specific awards:

  • Michelin Star - Awarded 1 to 3 stars based on food and service with three stars being the highest award Michelin gives out
  • Michelin Recommended Restaurant – Recognized for serving food at a very high level, but just shy of receiving a star
  • Bib Gourmand Award – Given out for serving excellent food at affordable prices.

All three awards are significant and, in my opinion, signal that a visit to any of the winners is worth your time.

Michelin One Star

Mixtli

Where to Eat in Southtown

San Antonio’s singular Michelin star was awarded to the very deserving, Mixtli, one of the most unique dining experiences in San Antonio. Mixtli has long been thought to be a Michelin contender as it has already received numerous accolades from the James Beard Foundation and other national organizations.

Mixtli offers a 10 course rotating tasting menu of Mexico’s different culinary regions and is an absolute world-class in food and service.
