Designed by architect O'Neil Ford, the Tower of the Americas was a remarkable feat of engineering, standing at a height of 750 feet. (At the time it was the tallest observation tower in the United States!)

How To Get to the Top?
To reach the 750-foot top of the Tower of the Americas and witness breathtaking panoramic views, visitors can ride on an elevator that quickly transports them to the observation deck at the top.
Fun fact: the three elevators inside can carry 1,950 passengers per hour and it only takes 43 seconds for the elevators to climb to the top (at 800 feet per minute).
The elevator is not only a means of transportation but it also gives you a thrilling experience.
As you ascend, the floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow you to see a glimpse of the cityscape unfolding beneath you, until PING! you reach the top of the tower and step out to the observation deck. You're immediately greeted by a 360º walkway where you get unobstructed views from the Tower of the Americas.
Admission Cost
Definitely check the website, because the prices can change at any moment. But if you're curious about the admission cost, entry to the top of the Tower of the Americas really is at a pretty reasonable price.
Adult admission costs $16.50, $13.00 for seniors & military, $12.00 for children 4-12 years old, and free for children 3 & under.
You can also get combo tickets for admission to the tower paired with a Go Rio river cruise. General admission for the Tower of the Americas & Go Rio Combo costs $31 for regular visitors and $24.50 for seniors & military members.
The ticket grants you unlimited access to both the observation deck and the Flags Over Texas Interactive Exhibit, a fascinating display that celebrates the history of Lone Star State and the 4D Theater Ride.
